My Father’s List

It was New Year’s Eve when my father saw me making list of my New Year’s Resolution. I told him that it would be my guide in the next year and hope that I could make them all into actions. He noticed that I have listed so many things I want to do. He suggested me that I better use his own list because it was shorter but would help me and guide me more in my daily living.

First, I should always remember the three things in life that once you let go, you can no longer have it back: the time, words and opportunities. So do not waste these on not so important things. Second, I should always remember the three things in life that could destroy a person: anger, boastfulness and not forgiving other people. Be humble and be a forgiver. And third, try to implement it in my life: hope, peace and honesty because these would help me continue life despite all the hurdles that I would encounter in life.

He added the three things in life that we are not sure of: luck, success and dreams. For him, there is also three things that makes a person: having commitment, honesty and hardwork. And that I should not forget the three most important things in life: love, family and friends. My father’s list will surely be a guide for me not only for the next year but or all the coming years in my life.
